John Wilkinson Memorial Tree Pickup Driver Notes

  • Park any unused vehicles at Tabor

  • Display the Tabor/Troop Tree Pickup sign in your front window so people and transfer station know who you are

  • ï‚· Your customer list has notes as to where a house, tree or money might be located

  • ï‚· Your customer list tells you whether or not you should be looking for money with the tree or if they paid electronically

  • ï‚· Trees should be obviously located but you may have to search a little

  • ï‚· Money can be with tree, in mailbox, in front door, etc.

  • If they didn’t prepay and you don’t find money leave a pre-addressed envelopes in their door or mailbox

  • ï‚· Only pick up trees that are listed for your route!

  • ï‚· If someone flags you down for a tree pickup in your travels, add them – let them know who we are and get their money, name, address, and email if possible

  • Check off each customer as you pick up their tree and whether they paid

  • ï‚· Note customers who were supposed to have a tree but don’t

  • ï‚· Note customers who’s tree you picked up but didn’t pay

  • ï‚· Tie down trees in truck as necessary to prevent them from flying out

  • ï‚· If you lose a tree while driving go back and get it (it happens every year and I get calls I don’t want)

  • ï‚· A large dumpster and ground crew will be located at Tabor for any trucks in that area. If you’re in an eastern section of town or have a large trailer, bring trees directly to the transfer station

  • ï‚· A large trailer will be located at Orchard House for Short Beach, Branford Hills, and Branford Point runs. It will move to Train Station after a couple hours

  • ï‚· Tabor will be open for bathroom use if needed

  • ï‚· The tree pile at the Transfer Station is way down in back

  • ï‚· You may get called from Christine Bjork at 203-214-3629 while on the road to add a tree to your route or if there is an issue

  • ï‚· If there are any issues you can call text or call Ken Bjork at 203-645-8371

  • ï‚· Return all money with window sign, clipboard and extra supplies to Ken Bjork at Tabor or you can drop it by his house at 29 White Birch Lane
